CLASS 12 COMPUTER APPLICATION THEORY

A. Basic Concepts: (5 Marks)
                        1. Simple Binary Arithmetic – Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division
                        2. Different methods of Negative Number Representation
                                          i)  Signed Magnitude
                                          ii) One’s Complement
                                          iii)Two’s Complement
                       3. ASCII codes for character and text representation
B. Logic Functions: (5 Marks)
                        1. Simple combinational circuit design using gates and simple cases of minimization                            2. Combinational Circuits (conversion is not necessary)
                                i) Half Adder & Full Adder (only definition and representation)
                                ii) Half Subtractor & Full Subtractor (only definition and representation)
                                iii) Multiplexer (4x1) and Demultiplexer (1x4)
                                iv) Decoder and Encoder (maximum 3 –bits)
C. Data Processing: (5 Marks)
                        1. File Organization: Serial, Sequential, Indexed Sequential
                        2. Record Structures
                                 i) Fixed-length record
